About
Hello, I’m Takako.
I’m a Japanese illustrator and printmaker based in London. I grew up in the countryside, where the changing seasons and surrounding nature made a lasting impression on how I see and use colour. I’ve been drawing since I could first hold a pencil, and visual storytelling has always been a way for me to express.
I studied Graphic Design at Central Saint Martins, and over time my practice shifted towards illustration.
My work often centres on everyday heartwarming moments, domestic scenes, and quiet narratives and community connections. Because of my background, I would love to tell stories deeply rooted in East and Southeast Asian (ESEA) heritage and life in London. Specifically, I am interested in exploring the cultural traditions that surround food and family.
